Airbus A 310

The A310-200 entered service with Swissair and Lufthansa in 1983. It's a shortened version of the A300. The greatest quality of the A310 is that of range.

Maximum Range with 266 passengers: 8,050 km. (4,350) nm. This quality has led to the aircraft being used extensively on transatlantic routes. Typical passenger seating 220.

Airlines that used the A310:Air India, Pakistan International AirwaysIran Air, Tap, Turkish Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Air Transat, CSA Czech Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Singapore Airlines, ....

A total of 255 A310s were delivered by Airbus from 1983 to 1997. In 2005 233 of these airplanes were still in operation and airbus had orders to construct 5 more.

History of the A 300: 1974 - 1977 - 1978 - 1983 (A 310) - 1984 (A300-600)

The first A310 was the 162nd Airbus off the production line, the aircraft made its maiden flight in April 1982. A direct competitor was the Boeing 767-200 which was already in service at the time.

After the A310 the A320 was developed by the Airbus consortium.
