During the early 1980s Boeing began to study the possibility of a stretched development of the 767-200 aircraft. The result was the development of the Boeing 767-300, which is a 21ft stretch of the original design.
The stretched version entered service in September 1986.
By 2005 a total of 104 Boeing 767-300 airplanes had been ordered and deliverd: ANA (34), Delta (28), Jal (22), Asiana (9), Air China (4), Shangahai Airlines (4), Air Algerie (3).
The Extended range (767-300 ER) version took the 767 into a league of it's own.
