The Renault Clio II started selling in the spring of 1998.
The engine line-up was similar to before, with 1.2 L, 1.4 L and 1.6 L petrol engines, this time with 16 valve heads, and a 1.9 L diesel.
The model was produced in 1998, 1999 and 2000. In 2001 it was restylished.
