The Boeing 747-400 has winglets and 4 engines. On the images you van cleary see that a big row of windows on the aircraft in the front section of the main deck are blocked. This is typical for all 22 KLM 747-400, but only on the right side of the aircraft. On the left side of this section you will find rows of 5 economy seats with one aisle between seats 3 and 4.

This is a rare seating plan. Between the two doors is a large kitchen. Also their 747-300 seem to have had this configuartion.

Amsterdam Schiphol airport (AMS) is home to 22 KLM Boeing 747-400 aircraft for passenger transport in 2003 and in 2009 it's still that way.

A full pax KLM Boeing 747-400 can transport 428 passengers. But KLM has only 5 Full pax Boeing 747-400.

17 out of 22 KLM Boeing 747-400 are combi aircraft, which means they carry cargo in the rear of the main deck. The KLM combi 747-400 can transport 280 passengers.

In 2007 KLM is unhappy with the combi aircraft, as at the airport they need more time to load and unload the cargo than they need for the passengers. KLM is looking for a replacement for the 17 Boeing 747-400 combi aircraft. Ideas are the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

In 2011 KLM still has their Boeing 747-400.
