US Airways

To rationalise its international fleet the airline will work with Airbus to transition to an all-Airbus fleet of A330 aircraft and, starting in 2011, A350 aircraft. They will be a launch customer for the Airbus A350 with deliveries scheduled between 2011 and 2013, with Airbus also providing a $250 million loan.

US airways worked under bankruptcy protection and merged with America West in 2005.

In 2005 US airways is based in and dominates traffic in Pittsburgh. In 2003 they also dominate traffic in Baltimore (BWI) and Charlotte (CLT). US airways had hubs in Philadelphia, Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and Indianapolis (IND).

In 2005 they used 10 Boeing 767-200ER, 31 Boeing 757-200, 45 Boeing 737-400  and 69 Boeing 737-300. The US Airways fleet consisted also of 9 Airbus A330-300 and 118 aircraft of the A320 family (28 Airbus A321, 24 Airbus A320, 66 Airbus A319).

In 2003 US airways was flying 9 Airbus A330 - 11 Boeing 767 - 34 Boeing 757 - 113 Airbus A320 - 181 Boeing 737 - 21 MD-80 and 40 Fokker 100.
