KLM / CSA CZECH AIRLINES
KLM codeshares with around 3
CSA Czech airlines flights on the route with Airbus A319 or A320 in 2009.
KLM offers around two daily flighs from
Amsterdam
Schiphol Airport (AMS) to
Prague (PRG) in 2009 with their Fokker F70 airliners. Both KLM and CSA Czech airlines are member of the
Skyteam airline
alliance and Amsterdam and Prague are their respective hubs. In
total there are round 5 flights a day between their hubs. When booking a return flight
Amsterdam-Prague on the KLM website in january 2010 for a flight Friday
2nd april and return 5th april (Eastermonday), the price was
around 260 euro, if you leave Amsterdat at 2:40 pm and leave Prague at
6:15 pm. You would use flight operated by both CSA and KLM. They
codeshare. When I wanted to book the same city pair in febuary 2010 on the KLM
website, suddenly the price had jumped to 478 euro and there only a
limited selection of travel times were available, even for this much
higher price. Above: a
CSA
Czech Airlines Boeing 737-500 just before touchdown at
Amsterdam Schiphol airport in november 2009.
Easyjet
In 2010 Easyjet seems to be active on the route from
Amsterdam
Schiphol Airport (AMS) to
Prague
(PRG) with a daily flight. Easyjet is often cheaper than KLM or CSA. In
August 2010 I could have a return flight for 86 euron when booked in
April 2010.
Wizzair
They don't fly from Amsterdam Schiphol airport in 2010, but from Eindhoven airport (
EIN). By rail from Amstredam it will take probably several hours to reach Eindhoven airport (
EIN)
as you will need to go to Eindhoven railway station in the city center
and take of bus from there to the airport. An alternative is a direct
busservice from Amsterdam to Eindhoven airport, but it might be
difficult tot find the location and time of departure in Amsterdam.
Going to Eindhoven railway station from Amsterdam isn't that
complicated, but it will take time.
