Berlin Tegel airport will be closed once the new Berlin Brandenburg airport is ready. It has been a charming airport with great terrasses to see the airliners. But the airport doesn't offer many long haul flights. For that you need to fly first to Frankfurt and connect there.

Berlin Tegel airport (TXL) is the largest airport of Berlin in 2010. But once the new terminal - which is under construction in 2010 - is ready at Berlin Schonefeld airport (SXF), all activities will be transferred to the new Berlin Brandenburg international airport.

Location: this was the main airport of West Berlin.

Bus: In 2010 there seems to be a busservice every 10 minutes which takes 17 minutes to reach the main railwaystation downtown.
