The original aiport was expaned for the 1958 Brussels Expo world fair.
Around the new millenium the airport recieved a second major expansion. This resulted in a pier A and a pier B and a totally new terminal building just next to the old one, which remained intact, but wasn't used anymore. The old gates and corridors remained intact in 2009, except for a few constructions at the gates that have been removed. These old gates aren't used in 2009, but they are adiacent to the gates at pier B.
Hotel: there is a Sheraton hotel just in front of the departures area.
