Emirates Airline has announced plans to
launch services to its second destination in Japan with flights to
Tokyo Narita (NRT) beginning March 28, 2010.
EK 318 DXB - NRT 0250 1755 Mo, Th, Fr, Sa, Su
EK 319 NRT - DXB 2140 0435 +1 Mo, Th, Fr, Sa, Su
Aircraft: B777-300/ER ( 3 class with pvt suites)
To fly from Europe to Japan going via DXB is about 4000 km longer. But
when th price is right... Also EK departs from cities in Europe where
there are no direct flights to Tokyo so the time savings (against
taking a non-stop service) are minimised.
UK examples which spring to mind would be BHX, MAN, GLA, NCL. In Germany there's DUS and HAM, in Italy there's VCE and so on.
The carrier, which currently flies daily to Osaka, will fly non-stop to
Tokyo five times a week on every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. Tokyo will be Emirates' 102nd international destination.
