Aerlingus probably
planned to fly daily from
Dublin
airport (DUB) to
Boston
(BOS) in 2010. In May 2010 flight EI 137 leaves Dublin daily at 2:00 pm
and arrives at 4:00 pm in Boston.
Aerlingus has long haul flights, but faced so much competition from
Ryanair, that they changed things from traditional long haul carriers
and you notice these changes also in the long haul flights. They really
seem to consider one way flights as a standard, instead of the often
rideculours one way fares of the traditional carriers, compared to
their return fares.
When booking in november 2009 it's possible to fly one way from
Brussels (BRU) to Boston via Dublin for 276 euro. That's a one way fare
of 214 euro plus 62 euro taxes and charges. So you leave Brussels at
10:00 am and arrive in Dublin at 10:50 am. Then you have
plenty of time to connect to flight EI 137 to Boston leaving
Dublin at 2:00 pm.
