In 2006 some 13 million passengers used the airport each year.
In 1998 Johannesburg (JNB) recieved 10 870 104 passengers.
In 1990 only a few cities had non-stop long haul service to Johannesburg (London, Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt, Lisbon, Rome) with only 28 flights a week.
This was the first airport for Johannesburg, constructed in the 1920s.
