London Gatwick (LGW)

Gatwick airport also offers many intercontinental flights.

Situated 48km/30 miles south of the city. There are 2 terminals and links to the city are by taxi, train and bus. Taxis: Outside Arrivals; journey time to the city centre can take two hours. Trains: The Gatwick Express is the fastest service in 2005 and goes to Victoria Station; trains depart every 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. A slower, stopping service also goes to Victoria Station, with departures every 15/30 minutes; journey time is about 50 minutes. A Thameslink service connects Gatwick with King’s Cross Station. Bus: A Flightline service operates between the airport and central London (Victoria Coach Station); hourly departures and journey time is 2 hours. In 1998 some 29.173.196 passengers used this airport.

London Luton

This small airport is situated 56km/35 miles north of the city. Links to the city are by train and bus. Train: A shuttle bus connects the airport with Luton station in 2005. Departures to London (King’s Cross) are every 20 minutes and the journey takes 30 minutes. Bus: Hourly departures to London (Victoria Coach Station); journey time is 1 hour 15 minutes.
