Philippine airlines (PR) flies from
Los Angeles (LAX) to
Manila (MNL)
with the Boeing 747-400 in 2009 and they sometimes need a fuel stop in Guam. With
the Boeing 777-300ER PAL won't have that problam anymore as it has
more range than the jumbo jet. Also their
flights from San Francisco to Manila have
the same problem.
In 2010 they still seem to fly their 747-400 on the route. Daily. They
leave Los Angeles in the evening at 10 pm during wintertime (9 pm with
daylight savings), and arrive in Manila at 6:15 am two days later as
the flight goes across the international dateline.
In 2010 Philippine airlines has 5 Boeing 747-400 in it's fleet.
