The Golden Age of Athens was around the 5th century BC, so around 2500 years ago. Today famous people who lived duing this Golden Age in Athens, are still famous for the hights of their intellectual work: Socarates, Hippocrates, Herodotus, Sophocles and many others. In 2011 Athens is the capital of Greece. The city is different from other European cities, as the country is in a financial crisis, because bankers don't want to give loans to the Greec government anymore. Athens is a very extended city in 2011, but it's also has many poor neighbourhoods.
