From the main railway station you can walk towards to main shopping street. Between them you find the famous Tivoli gardens. It's a very short walk. At the other end of this main shopping street you will find a brand new metro station in 2010. From here there is a direct metro link to the nearby international airport. Red bricks are very typical for the architecture of the older buildings in Copenhagen.  The city has great architects in 2011, but the typical red bricks aren't typical for their architecture. They are very modern today with a focus on ecology and the well being of humans in living spaces. Pubic buildings like opera houses and libraries have true modern architecture in Copenhagen.
