Lyon
along the river Rhone has a very long history of being a
city of trade
in the middle of a very diverse agricultural region. The
result is
world famous gasttronomy as well a producing some of the
great people
history has seen. For instance the Lumiere brothers, the
first to
invent the technique of making a movie, came from Lyon.

Sitting
along the river Rhone in Lyon in
February 2011 in the evening sun. If you cross the bridges
here towards
the peninsula you will find yourself in the heart of the
city center.
But from here further towards the plain you will get into a
less safe
neighbourhood of the city. |
