Rod Stewart

Roderick David Stewart (born January 10, 1945) is an English singer from Scottish descent. His parents owned a newsagent's shop in North London, and the family resided above the shop. Minutes before Rod Stewart was born in Highgate, London, a German V-2 rocket exploded into the police station just down the street.

David Bowie

David Bowie was born David Robert Jones in Brixton, South London (08/01/1947). He began paying the saxophone at age 13. At sixteen he began a career as a commercial artist.

Kim Wilde

Kim Smith, 18 November 1960, Chiswick, London, England. The daughter of 50s pop idol Marty Wilde and Vernons Girls' vocalist Joyce Smith (n e Baker), Kim was signed to Mickie Most's Rak Records in 1980 after the producer heard a demo Kim recorded with her brother Ricky. Her first single, the exuberant "Kids In America", composed by Ricky and co-produced by Marty, climbed to number 2 in the UK charts. A further Top 10 hit followed with "Chequered Love", while her debut Kim Wilde fared extremely well in the album charts.

Sade

born Helen Folasade Adu, 16 January 1959, Ibadan, Nigeria. Sade's sultry jazz-tinged vocals made her one of the most successful international stars of the 80s. Of mixed Nigerian/English parentage, Sade grew up in Clacton, Essex, England, writing songs as a teenager. While an art student in London, she joined Arriva, where she met guitarist Ray St. John with whom she composed "Smooth Operator". From 1981-83, Sade fronted the funk band Pride, leaving the following year to form her own band with ex-Pride members Stewart Matthewman (saxophone), Andrew Hale (keyboards) and Paul Denman (bass). The line-up was completed by drummer Paul Cook. The group gained a following on the London club scene and in 1984 its first single, the lilting "Your Love Is King" was a UK Top 10 hit.
