In 2003 at the Paris North Railway station (Gare du Nord) you can take the High Speed trains  (TGV = Train a Grande Vitesse) towards London (Eurostar) and the Benelux (Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam, The Hague, Amsterdam) and direct to Cologne (in Germany) via Brussels.
