The central line
In 2007 departure at 8 am in Dar es Salaam gives you an expected arrival at 6:25 pm in Tabora to do 850 km of railways distance. So trains seem to be doing over a 100 km/h.
There is a railwayline to the city Arusha
You start travelling on the central line. Then you follow the Tanzanian coast line by using the link line which connects to the Tanga line.
Arusha is situated near Mount Kilimanjaro (in Tanzania) near the Kenian border.
The railwaydistance between Dar es Salaam and Arusha is 644 km.
Part of this railway line crosses the border with Kenya and connects to towards Nairobi and Mombasa.
Tanga is a port city and has an inland railway line (called the Tanga line) to the city of Arusha where it ends. It was the first railway in the German colony and built inland from Tanga after 1891.
